Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. Feels more like winter today with temperatures in the single digits to start the day. After above freezing temperatures all week, the cold temps freezing down the base hard. We did get some off and on fluff snow Friday which sifted into the track nicely taking of the hardness and icy edge. The trails are very skiable, best skiing on Sukkerbusk, North Loup and Roy’s Run for classic (Rootin Tootin fine for accessing the north trails) and Skaters Waltz and North Loup skate lane for skating. The start and open areas are very icy but once you get in the woods, skiing improves.

Friday morning we groomed the skate lanes on Skaters Waltz and North Loup and cut new track on Roy’s Run and North Loup. We will also combed out Wavy Gravy and Island lake for multi trail use for the weekend. West trails should be avoided with more icy segments.

We contine to groom daily, focusing on the trails of Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, North Loup and Skaters Waltz. Thursday we reset track on Rootin Tootin, Mother North Star. MNS has some thin areas and hard ice spots but skiable and new snow filling in the tracks helping but there are sections that are rock solid ice. Use extra caution!

Due to deteriorating snow conditions, in particular the lake segments, the Lotvola Cup has been canceled for this year. We didn’t anticipate this stretch of warm weather. We were really looking forward to having the race back. We will plan a date for 2026 in the Fall. Thanks everyone for the interest and support!
