The trails are open for skiing:
January like weather continues with morning low checking in at -7. Will warm up nicely to the 20’s and plenty of sunshine making for a great day on the trails. Skiing yesterday afternoon found dry silky snow and sun having a hard time softening the snow thanks to a brisk nw wind that brought in the cooler temps. 1″ of new snow the past 24 hours. Grooming this morning on Skaters Waltz, Twin Lakes, Bullhead and Mother North Star. Grooming on North Loup, Sap Run, Mother Hen and Sukkerbusk Tuesday morning. The above trails will be groomed on Friday and Saturday morning. Ski conditions are excellent. Snow is dry and powdery with no icy spots. We did not have rain on Saturday, 6″ of snow instead! Since early February, we have had around 4 feet of snow! Compacted base on trail is 12-22″.
For the remainder of the snow season: Skaters waltz and north loup will groomed (skate only) until the snow is gone! Tracks will be renewed on Sukkerbusk, Mother North Star, Sap Run and Twin Lakes and Bullhead and Wavy Gravy on occoasion. We are entering spring skiing mode when the best conditions are usually in the morning before 11am or a after 4pm but can vary with temp and weather. The trails will be open for skiing at no charge but donations welcomed. Please pay the attendant at the reception check in area. No lodging or services (no ski rental) available in the lodge. Ski at your own risk, pack in and pack out!!
