Moosejaw 2015

This annual music and dance weekend has gained a national reputation among dancers and old-time musicians. The second weekend in March  200 people gather at Maplelag for workshops, dances, jamming, and fun. The emphasis is on old-time music and square dancing, but the group likes to mix it up, too. In addition to a great old-time band and experienced caller, every year a second band performs for dances and we offer related workshops. In the past workshops in swing, Cajun, zydeco, and Scandinavian dancing have been offered. The fun also includes skiing (of course) on 65K of groomed trails at Maplelag, and use of the entire lodge. The huge hot tub is a hit with worn-out dancers and every year a few brave souls jump in the lake (through a hole cut in the ice) after relaxing in the sauna.

One of the fun things about MooseJaw are all the little jams going on throughout the lodge. March 8th, 2014.

Laddies Loppet 2014

Laddies Loppet is a mountain bike stage race we hold every Labor Day weekend at Maplelag. We have been hosting the event since 1990, making it one of the oldest mountain bike races in Minnesota! This years dates are August 30st and 31st, 2014. Saturday’s racing includes a time trial & short track, and Sunday’s racing features the main event, cross country racing. Once again we are proud to be a part of the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series. Laddies Loppet will be race #9 in the series this year. The race is named after our former, friendly dog, Laddie. This is a great event for the whole family with races and age categories for every type of rider. Laddies Loppet was named race of the year of the Series in 2012 and 2011. Note: Canadian riders are now able to race without any extra license requirement.

Midwest Bank is a rapidly-growing, locally-owned, independent bank with offices located in West Central Minnesota. Through our rapid growth, we have developed the financial and technological resources to meet the needs of our small and large customers alike. Being locally-owned, we have a vested interest in seeing our communities thrive. Being independent allows us to provide a banking atmosphere that our customers appreciate — a responsiveness not matched by our competition, decisions made by the people you talk to rather than a committee in a distant city, and fees that are considerably below our competition. These items, combined with top-notch customer service, make us believe that we offer banking the way you want it — “Banking Your Way.”  www.midwestbank.net

At Wolf Tooth Components, we are a group of hardcore cyclists that found ourselves spending a lot of time talking about bike components.  Like most racers we were always looking for new products that could make our bikes lighter, faster, or more reliable.  Since we all come from engineering and manufacturing backgrounds our conversations often focused on how we could make the products on the market today even better.  The company was founded to design and manufacture unique cycling components that emphasize function, performance, and reliability to meet the needs of fellow racers and riders.  We are excited to support the Laddies Loppet.  www.wolftoothcycling.com

Fargo Brewing: From a garage to a full fledged brewery in five short years sums up a dream come true for us Fargo natives with our heart set on bringing craft brewing to the heartland. It was a like-mindedness that brought our paths together, and a Midwestern work ethic that maintained that path, through thick and thin, to see an idea through and bring as fine a product as we can to our home. Ah hell, it’s just beer, chief. Bottoms up.  Sounds like a great fit for the Laddies Loppet to us!  www.fargobrewing.com
