Trail Report

After mist early in the morning, precip changed to snow mid morning and light snow falls as of noon time. Total accumulation expected around one inch.  Grooming this morning on Sap Run, Mother Hen, Mother North Star, Sukkerbusk, Twin lakes, Bullhead with fresh tracks being set and, Skaters Waltz and North Loup groomed for skating. The glazing was mixed in with fresh snow from underneath making for some great skiing and the light snow falling now is taking off the edge on the other trails that were not groomed this morning. The drizzle late last night good for putting mositure in the trails and plenty of snow to work with to provide some nice conditions. The trails are in great shape and a nice weekend of skiing on tap. Grooming in the morning on the skate trails and classic trails not groomed today. Although the temp was around 32 yesterday, there was no “melting”. The previous days temps were in the teens and even colder for lows with negative temps, which has the base froze down nicely. The streets in town that are salted might have standing water but the trails are dry.

Trail Report

A cozy day on the trails as the temp hovered just below freezing, overcast and haze/mist. Snow had a soft feel but great skiing being reported. Roys’ Run and Island Lake trail tracked in the morning. These trails remained soft all day due to the high humidity and warmer temps, but again, good reports from the folks skiing these trails. After this morning’s grooming, the entire trail system has been groomed 1-3 times since Monday. About 50km of trail set with tracks and 13km groomed for skating. Chance of snow tonight and grooming in the morning as needed.

Trail Report

Another sunny day on the trails. One of the warmest days of the ski season with temp around 20. Felt a bit cooler with a south wind but in the woods about as good as it gets for skiing. Trails that were groomed yesterday set up nicely overnight and skiing was faster today. Good day for skating with warmer temps and glide much better. The trails are in great shape and we hope to track Island Lake and Roy’s run tomorrow or the day after. Chance of freezing drizzle but the base is substantial at almost 8″ in spots and plenty of snow to work with to continue the great skiing if that does happen. Chance for snow as well and temps look good, looking ahead.

Trail Report

A beautiful day on the trails. Sun out in full force, light winds and bit cooler temps than forecasted but sun making it feel a bit warmer. After this mornings grooming, all the trails have been groomed 1-3 times the past two days except Roy’s Run and Island Lake trail. Should have these two trails tracked by the 26th. Tracks set on about 37km of trail, 13km groomed for skating and Roy’s and Island making up the remaining km yet to be tracked. Skiing has been fantastic and pretty much as good as it gets. A bit soft on some trails but still some great skiing.

Trail Report

Pretty much a postcard day on the trails today. 4-5″ of fluffy snow, no wind and temp reaching 15 degrees which felt almost balmy considering we saw -28 yesterday morning. Lots of smiling faces on the trails including a pair of deer sighted on Skaters Waltz extension. Grooming action on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen, Mother North Star, Twin Lakes, Bullhead lake trail which saw fresh tracks and Skaters Waltz, North Loup, Kristin’s Kutoff, Single and Double green and the extension of Skaters Waltz rollcompacted for the skating. Tracksetting planned on Sukkerbusk, Rootin Tootin, Wavy Gravy, JibFly and Lucky’s Loype and North Loup and the Skaters loops most likely to be packed again for skating.
