Maplelag has nearly 70km of trails for skiing, fat biking and snowshoeing in the winter time. In the heart of the season up to 50km groomed for classic skiing, and 15km groomed for skate skiing. We also groom around 10km of trail for fat biking and have 100 acres of terrain to explore snowshoeing along with designated trails. We also have access to at least 10km of trail for bushwhacking. Ski rentals and ski lessons available for overnight guests. Skates available for the ice skating rink and sleds available for the sledding hill at no charge for overnight guests. Ice fishing is byo equipment but we do have two portable fish houses available. Day passes are available for day skiing if not staying at the resort.
It has been a great start to spring with a nice variety of migrating birds and the woods are alive with the sounds and sights of nature. We will be hosting one of the events in the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds, a presentation by Carrol Henderson on the “Return of the Peregrine Falcon” followed by a dinner featuring Mapelag’s famous pan fried walleye!
