Tree Planting

Anna and Kira planted around 1500 trees on the Maplelag property this week, adding to the 600 or so we will be planting ourselves this spring. All part of the  forest management program at Maplelag. Since Maplelag first started, we have planted a couple hundred thousand trees!!

Dollars for Scholars

Congratulations to Zach on winning the $500 scholarship from Maplelag through the Detroit Lakes Dollars for Scholars. Monday we will be announcing another scholarship opportunity for high school Nordic seniors.

Maple Syrup Season

We no longer “sugar” at Maplelag but many locals in the area collect sap to be boiled down for maple syrup. We serve pure maple syrup at Maplelag with our syrup coming from the Kroll’s Zuckerwald in Long Prairie, MN. Check out the trail report page for a few photos of collecting sap at Maplelag in the early years.
