A gorgeous week of Fall conditions. Beautiful morning on Wednesday with brilliant sunshine highlighting the autumn foliage. Clouds moving in late with a few sprinkles at dusk. The cool temps this September has pushed the Fall color along with many trees past their peak now and falling from the frost and cold temps on Saturday. This is one of the most gorgeous times of the year in the woods with the leaves changing daily and nice temps for working on the trails. We have been mowing on the ski trails and clearing deadfall and also making great progress on the new singletrack by twin lakes ski trails.
Beautiful Fall weekend. Did cool down enough on Saturday morning for our first frost of the year. Not a hard frost as only the roofs, and tops of the trees were white. One of the most gorgeous times of the year in the woods with the leaves changing daily and nice temps for working on the trails. The leaves are starting to near their peak of Fall color on certain trees but the majority of trees still green, especially deep in the woods. A mix bag of weather this week with gorgeous Fall days broken up by three rainy days. Rainfall relatively light will less than a half inch total over the three days.

We have been mowing on the ski trails throughout the summer and fall, preparing them for winter and cutting trees from winds throughout the summer . The ski trails are in great shape for this time of year. A few areas of erosion from the hard rain but will repair later this Fall. We will continue working on the trails preparing them for the winter season and also working on new singletrack near twin lakes ski trails.
Relatively dry week until Friday afternoon. A shower passing through leaving 2/10ths of an inch of precip. Great riding on the course this morning. The best part was the general absence of deer flies. Possible they are at the end of their cycle which would be very nice. Mushrooms have exploded from wet weather and interesting to see the wide variety in the woods. Folks have been hitting the trail pretty much daily. A few mud spots here and there from the recent rain. We have brushed out the lakeside drops and blown out the singletrack and conditions are very good to excellent. A few areas still brushy. The water tables are are at near record levels from the wet June and July. Mosquitoes starting to multiply with the wet conditions but if you keep moving, not as bad. We have been working on the trails including maintenance work on the singletrack and have been mowing on the ski trails, preparing them for winter and cutting trees from winds earlier this month. The ski trails are in great shape for this time of year.

An unusually low pressure system created some fantastic storms Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Just under 3″ of rain in 12 hours. There was no wind or tornado activity despite favorable conditions. The trails will be wet for a day until they get a chance to dry up.
