Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails are open. Gorgeous late September day on tap. Few more leaves falling to the ground but still one of the best times of year to ride! Today we will be clearing on some of the ski trail and also Hudson’s Hula and hopefully Moorhead and Bjorops. Most recent clearing before on Tuesday with the bridge section and first half of original Twin Lakes singletrack being cleared.

Nice job to the riders that completed a double LagChilada the past few weeks and always good seeing new riders out!

Trail Report

Dry and above average temperatures in place this last week of September. Just under .10″ of rain Monday evening. Fall scenes are emerging more each day with the leaves slowly changing color. The dry conditions have been good for working on the trails. We are beginning our first big push of ski trail work as we constantly prepare for the winter months.

Overall the woods are very lush and green thanks to abundant moisture this spring and summer. Many wildflowers, mushrooms, lichen etc. popping up each week. We continue mowing on the ski trails as we constantly clear trees falling from the wind events.

Total rainfall in September at .41″. August rainfall at 3.2″. Rainfall the month of July at 5.71″. Total rainfall in June at 7.56″. It was also a very wet month of May with right around 8″ of rain. Since January 1st, we have received almost 28″ of rain.

The rain has been welcomed with the relatively dry conditions the previous 6 months and to keep the soil damp and moist for the trees we planted this spring. The lake, ponds, sloughs and water tables are at normal levels now.

Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails are open. Trails are rolling great and some of the best riding of the season is now! Warm weather returning with dry conditions. Great night for the Wolves practice Tuesday evening.

Last week we cleared on the entire LagChilada course and blew out the entire course. Leaves are starting to fall constantly but overall great Fall riding. The leaves are a week or so behind on the fall color and should be some nice scenes for another month or so.

Nice job to the riders that completed a double LagChilada the past few weeks and always good seeing new riders out!

We will continue clearing out segments of trail as needed with the leaf blowers as more leaves start to fall to the forest floor. Tuesday clearing on the Twin Lakes bridge section and the first half of Twin Lakes (singletrack segment)
