Fat Bike Trail Report

Fat Bike Trails Open
. Best to ride before 1pm today. Riding when it is soft will make deeper ruts that are harder to smooth out.The “InnerWest” loop is open and groomed. Friday afternoon we groomed the Twin Lake singletrack to smooth out the ruts. Overall great riding conditions.

To access the InnerWest loop, take Skaters Waltz and follow the skate trail until signs indicated where to turn. To just ride Twin Lakes and SukkerWest, access from the driveway. We will also have the skate trails open on Skaters Waltz extension and North Loup.

Bullhead Bootleg has filled up with snow from wind and recent storms (over a foot of new snow since last grooming) and might be a while until we can have this trail in riding condition. Even without bootleg there is 20km of trail available to ride.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open.  We’ve transitioned to spring like skiing. Icy/fast in the morning before softening and slowing late morning/early afternoon. Best time to ski generally 11am-1pm. If possible, we ask folks to ski before or during these times to help preserve our base and snow and make grooming a bit easier.

Although we have a good base of snow, the present of dirt facilitating the melting but as long as we keep freezing down at nights should have skiing available this week. Monday morning grooming planned on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes

This week we will be focusing on the Lotvola Cup course. With the warm weather this week, we will make a decision by Wednesday afternoon if we can have a safe full course.

We are excited to announce the return of Lotvola Cup on March 2nd, 2025. Click here for details.  Course is on Strava and will be marked early next week.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. Great weekend of skiing on tap! Skiing about as good as it gets. Friday grooming on all the skate trails to complete a regroom of the entire trail system this week.

Thursday new track was reset on Rootin Tootin, Wavy Gravy, Island Lake, Roy’s Run and North Loup.

Wednesday track was reset on JibFly, Mother Hen, Sap Run and cleaned up the start area. Tuesday track was reset on Loon Return, Sukkerbusk, Twin Lakes, Bullhead/Bootleg Lake trail, Kristins Kutoff, Mother North Star to Sap Run back to trailhead. We also cleaned up the short section of Mother North Star where it shares with the fat bike trail.

We look to warm up on the weekend with above freezing temperatures possible Sunday-Wednesday. We have have a good base of snow, a little dirty from strong winds blowing dirt off the Red River Valley, but as long as keeps freezing at nights, should be able to have spring like conditions. Faster in the morning before softening in the afternoon. If you plan to ski next week, we ask people try to ski before 1pm so we can better preserve the snow and makes it easier for grooming and best conditions possible moving forward.

We are excited to announce the return of Lotvola Cup on March 2nd, 2025. Click here for details.  Course is on Strava and will be marked early next week.
