Warm temps the past week has brought to life the forest floor with the first yellow slippers coming out today. Amazing change in the woods from 10 days ago where it looked more like mid April to now looking like mid June!

Keeping Watch
Wind and rain the past 24 hours has moved a lot of the ice off the lake and won’t be long until the lake is completely ice free. Latest trail report on the trail report page.
Still Skiing
The start area at the trail head is almost free of snow but in the woods, still plenty of coverage for a nice ski.
Maple Syrup Season
We no longer “sugar” at Maplelag but many locals in the area collect sap to be boiled down for maple syrup. We serve pure maple syrup at Maplelag with our syrup coming from the Kroll’s Zuckerwald in Long Prairie, MN. Check out the trail report page for a few photos of collecting sap at Maplelag in the early years.
