Frost flowers form after the lake has frozen over and cold nights freeze any moisture lingering at the surface. Not every year does it happen as the ice needs to be snow free.
Cars around the Six Swedes cabin buried with snow after a Spring snow storm on April 28th, 2008 dropped nearly 2 feet of snow.
