After a relatively warm week with a few rainy days, a nice hard freeze on Sunday after early morning lows in the 20’s. Gorgeous conditions on the trails to end the week. Ideally the ground, sloughs, ponds and lakes will freeze before the snow flies for real. Looking at the week ahead, slightly above temps with dry conditions looks to be on tap. Alaska is experiencing quite cold weather right now (temps in the -30 to -50 range) which is often times a good indication of when cold weather might move south once the jet stream is positioned to allow cold air to move south from Canada etc (10-12 days type of thing). The trails are in great shape with maintenance to continue right up until the snow flies. We are hoping to sneak in a little cat work this week before cold and snowy temps move in for good.
