Trails are open. Dusting of fluff snow overnight accumulating to an inch or so. Trees touched with a hint of frost with the snow covering as well making for winter wonderland conditions.
Trails are taking shape nicely after nearly a foot of snow the past week and daily grooming. We continue to groom daily, setting track on more trails and leveling and combing out the skate trails. Still some rough spots, mainly on the outer trails and always be aware for areas of thin cover, organic forest matter etc. but overall very nice early season skiing.
Grooming report: Today we set track on Roy’s Run, combed and leveling out the skate trails Skaters Waltz, the extensions and North Loup. We also packed out the Bootleg extension on Bullhead lake trail. Yesterday a track was set on Rootin Tootin, JibFly, Twin Lakes and the first part of Island Lake and the return of Wavy Gravy. The remainder of Wavy and Island will be tracked on Thursday, if conditions warrant.
Tracks have been set on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen, JibFly, Rootin Tootin, Twin Lakes, Mother North Star and Roy’s Run for classic skiing. Some of the trails only have one track set. We are preserving the other side for future tracksetting. Please no skating on the classic trails. Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, and North Loup designated trails for skating.
All trails are one way except Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz. Skiing correct direction, especially in early season, helps us maintain the integrity of the base. Thank youi!
