Trails will remain open for Monday morning skiers. Spring like conditions, icy in morning before softening as the day passes. Thin cover with icy spots but skiable! Suggest to ski from 10am-1pm.
Trails recommended to ski are the 5km of trail we have been grooming the past few days that consists of the east side segments of Skaters Waltz. Start behind the freight house near the lodge site, take Sukkerbusk or Soccer Field connector up to the trail. Recommended to ski counter clockwise using the end of Sap Run to Skaters Waltz and take that all way to North Loup, left at cones and back in on Sukkerbusk transitioning to Skater Waltz at Skinny field and return. Option to ski big hill down to Bullhead Lake off of Skaters Waltz.
Skiing allowed both directions, skate and no track classic. We have been shoveling and transporting snow to the thin areas and grooming at dusk. We are not able to set new track. Orange cones mark the intersections and skiable segments.
The trails system is mostly covered with a crusty/ice base. If we can hang on to the base during the warm weather this week before it cools down again, it won’t take much new snow to have good skiing again.
Fat bike trails are closed until consistent cold weather during the day. Latest fat bike trail report.
Please no walking on the ski or fat bike trails. Snowshoe trails are open but snowshoeing possible anywhere except the ski trails.
Trail passes can be purchased on the products page.
Maplelag current conditions including data from the new Maplelag weather station can be found on the Weather page. Total snowfall since November 1st at 12″. Current snow depth is 1-3″ and compacted base on trails is 0-2″.
