Trails are open. It’s been a beautiful week on the trails. Conditions are hardpack/icy but we have been grooming on 9km of trail to try and improve the conditions which has been a fun challenge with good results, all things considered. Not as busy on the trails but folks are out skiing.
Best skiing has been on the inner trail segments of Skaters Watlz and Sukkerbusk and the first and last third of North Loup. Not quite as warm today as forecasted which was good for keeping the snow and base intact. Looks to be a bit warmer tomorrow, recommended to ski sunrise to 12 noon or so for best conditions. Looking at the forecast we will most likely close the trails Sunday afternoon.
We are grooming 9km of trail on a condensed loop of Skaters Waltz, Eira Bikwadinaa Hill, Single Green Climb, Kristin’s Kutoff and all of North Loup. We coned off the intersections to avoid sections not to ski on. Use extra caution for areas of thin coverage, glare icy spots etc. but the groomed loop is very skiable on frozen spring like conditions.
Use the soccer field connector to access Skaters Waltz and continue on Skaters to the right and take a left on Sap Run to use as a connector for the best skiing. The far end of North Loup is very icy, the first third and last third is skiable, recommended to go out and back on these segments for best skiing.
